pin 155: heat things up winter circuit workout

winter workout

I really don’t have to remind you of all the reasons to work out this season, do I? Cookies, candies, cakes… oh my!

This workout is sure to make you sweat! You can do it through twice or three times. I did each circuit through twice and definitely felt it.

Ease (1-10): 4 Pretty tough but definitely do-able.Cost: $0

pin 153: crossfit tabata workout squats and push-ups

Oy. This one is a killer. Literally. My arms and hamstrings hurt for days because of this workout! Think about it – 80+ push-ups and who knows how many squats!

Seriously, if you’re looking for a way to not raise your arms enough drink out of a glass {true story: I had to use both hands and lean back}, then this is the workout for you!

Ease (1-10): 6 Super tough workout.
Cost: Zerooo

pin 150: total body workout

Life gets so crazy sometimes! I have been working so hard at work and getting hardly any sleep, so blogging has fallen by the wayside. I’ll do my best to catch up tonight but I am way, way behind!

This pin is great for people like me who are on a budget and can’t afford a gym membership. Or maybe you are too busy to hit the gym. Whatever the case, this pin is really great for an all over workout! No equipment? No problem! All you’ll need for this is a little perseverance 🙂

Ease (1-10): 4 Pretty tough workout!
Cost: Nada!

pin 143: plump glutes circuit workout

This workout seriously kicks your ass! I don’t know if you have buns of steel and can make it through this 3 times, but my flabby butt was exhausted after 2 times! I also stopped because I was starting to feel some pain in my knees and can in no way tolerate a knee injury right now. It would be pretty awful.

This pin combines all the greatest glutes exercises into one and then multiplies the average rep by about… 20. Seriously? 50 squats? In one set? Don’t get me wrong, I loved it, but for that many squats my ass better look like Britney Spears’ circa Baby One More Time.

Ease (1-10): 7 At least! I only did two sets of these exercises and it calls for 3. I’m no couch potato but I’m not in the best of shape.
Cost: Nada!

pin 142: 4×4 workout {cardio, strength, abs}

This workout is a killer! It’s customizable depending on your athletic/fitness level. I tried it on beginner because I’m short on time and tired but it was quite a workout! I think next time I will try it at an intermediate.

A little bit of arms and legs, but mostly abs and cardio. You will need dumbbells for this workout.

Ease (1-10): 5 Pretty tough.
Cost: Zip!

pin 137: 10 minute cardio and abs circuit workout

It’s finally gotten cold and rainy in Los Angeles! Part of me really loves it because it means sweaters and boots and comfort food, but most mornings I wake up really dreading taking Penelope around the neighborhood! Most nights, I don’t feel like braving the cold to run my almost-daily mile so at home cardio workouts really come in handy.

This pin is amazing – you really never knew you could get so much done in 10 minutes! All of these exercises are hard to do for a full minute so you’ll really feel the burn. It’s a great workout for your abs and even works in a little arms and legs too.

With all the yummy food I have been making/planning to make, I need all the cardio I can get. What are some of your favorite non-gym workouts?

Ease (1-10): 5 Works you out!
Cost: 0

pin 135: lean legs pyramid exercise

This pin is a great workout for when your legs are feeling really flabby. Working all day sitting at a desk, my leg muscles tend to feel like JELLO at the end of the day. Most nights I run about a mile around the neighborhood but tonight I just couldn’t bring myself to run it again. I walk the same route 2-3 times a day with my dog and then run it at night… Gets a little repetitive.

Most nights I’m really dragging my ass around the neighborhood. I tend to get a little down on myself because I’m a really slow runner. But today I saw a pin that really made me feel inspired:

This is going to keep me moving for a long time! If you don’t follow fitsugar on Pinterest, you should! They have amazing workouts and great inspirational pins. It definitely makes being healthy much more fun 😉

Anyway, the lean legs pyramid exercise is really great! You’ll definitely feel it in your outer thighs! I had no idea I could do so many jumping jacks but I’m glad I did. I think this workout could pay off if you stick with it.
Ease (1-10): 5 Pretty tough!
Cost: Nada!

pin 133: workout tips for your body type

When I was little, I thought the only shapes were skinny, big and normal. Skinny was my cousin Jenny and big was a girl in my kindergarten class, but normal – well, that was all the rest of us. We weren’t skinny like a straight line like Jenny and we weren’t round like Amber. We were just… normal. We didn’t need to worry about being ‘fat’ or ‘too skinny’, we were just kind of the middle pile.

It wasn’t until I got older and started reading magazines that I started worrying about ‘thunder thighs’ or ‘flabby arms’. Flabby arms? On 13 year olds? It’s not as simple as just being anymore. Now, you have a shape and you’re taught to hate it. Nevermind if you’re in your average weight range and perfectly healthy, your ass looks terrible in those jeans! Luckily, we have all the best ways to ‘camouflage’ your hated parts.

All that being said, it is helpful to see where you need to build more muscle. In my case, I need upper body work. I have no definition in my arms, so this workout pin is great for me! It really worked out my triceps and laterals!

Ease (1-10): 4.5 Pretty easy, but time consuming.
Cost: FREE!

pin 129: sculpt your butt workout

Sadly, that butt does not reside on my backside. Instead, I have a lack of butt. I rapidly dropped weight sometime around 9th grade and apparently my butt went with it! My boyfriend swears that I had a butt when I met him but sadly, it was long gone by the time I met my sweetie in 11th grade.

Anyway, the name of the game is that I’d like a firm tush or at least a semblance of a bump, if possible. These exercises would definitely help! If I did this workout 3 x a week, I would see results before you could say “Oh. My. God. Becky. Look. At that. Butt.

Ease (1-10): 4 Not too tough {you won’t sweat} but you can feel the toning.
Cost: 0!

pin 125: all-over body workout {arms, legs, back and core}

This pin was definitely a great workout! Of course, it came from Back On Pointe. I swear, that blog is the Bible for exercise.

Ease (1-10): 4 Not all that tough, but you’ll feel the exercises working.
Cost: Free

Sorry I have been behind in writing, especially this weekend. Was getting ready to go out for Halloween on Saturday and found out some horrible news that BF’s friend from home had tragically passed away. Been a little… surreal since then.

Hope to catch up more this week. Everyone stay safe, please.
